‘Make Up for Good’ Reviews

Here are a few fabulous reviews from ladies all over Ireland & Canada who took my Online Make Up Class. Donations made from these classes are 100% going to DVAS (Domestic Violence Advocacy Service) You can donate on my Go Fund Me Page ‘Make Up for Good’

This online event is a must and the best online event I have attended. Sharon is an amazing host, with excellent knowledge and expertise, even for a make up novice like me. I loved how social the event was; and yet how it addressed my personal make- up/ skin queries.. plus the product list at the end was amazing. At a time when when self care and needing to connect are important, this ticked all the boxes. I will definitely be signing up for more classes. 5 🌟. Aoife McGrath Tipperary

Sharon’s online class was great. It doesn’t matter what your level of make-up knowledge is….this class is for everyone. I am loving the new  make-up tips I learnt and it was great to have a chat and laugh with my friends at the same time. I totally recommend this class. Fiona Mannion, Dublin

Sharon’s make-up masterclass was an intimate evening of fun & laughter with friends. Sharon was so engaging and personable in her approach that I felt she was sitting beside me at my kitchen table. She shared loads of tips on skincare & make-up application. I felt like a new woman after the masterclass & my make-up looked class too. I would highly recommend Sharon’s Make-Up Masterclass. I looking to attending her cream make-up masterclassđź’« Angelina Hynes, Galway

Thank you to Sharon McCormack for a fantastic girls night . Sharon hosted a fun filled make up tutorial for a group of us ladies who haven’t caught up in a long-time.  We learned some fantastic make up skills , all tailored to our individual skin types,  we laughed and we all connected. A bit of self care home for all us ladies trying to juggle working from home, home schooling, parenting and missing our ladies chats! And all for ‘charity’ well done Sharon… so ladies get your tribe together and ‘make up to give back’ with Sharon. Rachel Nash, Cork.

This make up master class really is the best girls night in. Grab your make up bag and round up your friends for a zoom call with a difference. Sharon is a hugely skilled make up artist and gives fantastic tips on skin types, beauty products and best colours to suit your natural colouring. She’ll demonstrate step by step make up looks that are so easy to follow. It’s a great fun opportunity to catch up with your gal pals while brushing up on your beauty skills and the best bit is you support a great cause. Onagh O’Grady, Roscommon 💋

What a fun but also informative night was had at the Sharon McCormack make up zoom party. I would highly recommend organising one of these with your mates or with your family members. Sharon is such a pro at what she does and was able to give her masterclass through video. She is very professional but also fun. Sharon thought us all how to create a make up look,  spent time on each individual helping them and advising what works for each person. It is so great to now look into my own makeup bag with confidence and know how to use all the products correctly and how to enhance my face with my own make up. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The ultimate girls night!! It was such a great night and it felt like we were all sitting around a table chatting, having a drink and attending her masterclass in person. Thanks so much Sharon. Will def be organising another one soon xxxx Mary Kinsella, Kildare

Thanks Sharon for a great night-in with Zoom Makeup, living abroad it was so lovely to connect with the girls back home at an event that I wouldn’t be able to get to unless for this online get together! For a makeup novice like myself I found Sharon shared her knowledge & all her great tips & tricks that she has acquired with her vast experience over the years in a basic but detailed way! She gave great pointers on foundations shades & brands she loves for each skin type, she gave her “do’s & don’ts” for concealers & eyes which has made such a difference to my makeup look! Can’t wait for the next one, to connect with friends back home & enjoy another step by step guide to better my make up and at the same time donating to a wonderful cause! Arlene Reynolds, Canada.

“I have felt somewhat feral since the kids started coming 10 years ago with self care gone out the window. So Sharon’s class felt like the ultimate luxury night in with friends, having my husband put our crazy children to bed while I had much needed time with friends and a bottle of Bacardi, beautifying myself. Sharon managed to tranform me from a wrinkled old lady to a Kardashian doppelganger in two hours🤣 with some make up I picked up in pennies. I call her the fairy godmother of make up.. who wouldn’t want this. ” 🤣🤣🤣  Aoife McGrath, Tipperary

Bridal Skincare Steps

Looking after your skin is always important.  We tend to give it a little more TLC on the lead up to special events!

Unfortunately all weddings are postponed at the moment, it is important to continue caring for your skin and prepping it for your Wedding Day.

Caring for your skin is vital.  You can never start this process too early nor it is never too late to start!

  • Cleanse your skin day & night, always remove your make up.
  • Try and get your recommended sleep of 6-8 hours.
  • Stay hydrated, drink plenty of water, you can never overdo this step !
  • Wear SPF
  • Use skin-specific skincare products especially your moisturiser
  • Wear eye cream day and night!
  • Get fresh air, great for your skin and your well-being!

Morning Routine

  • Cleanse- This gets rid of any dirt, left over make up and clogging elements.
  • Cleanse again- This works deep into your pores and leaves your skin squeaky clean
  • Serum- I would never skip this step, a serum penetrates deeper into your skin leaving your skin with a firm and smooth texture. Serums lock in moisture.
  • Moisturiser-It is important to use the correct moisturiser for your skin type. Moisturising keeps your skin cells healthy. Using a cream with an SPF will protect your skin from sun damage!
  • Eye cream- These creams are generally are a thicker cream so they nourish the thin layer of skin around your eyes. Eye creams cater for all issues: puffiness, dark circles, fine lines and dullness!
  • Not everyone adds primer to their skin routine but I think it is an important step especially if you are going to apply make up shortly afterwards! Primer protects your skin and acts as a barrier between your skin and make up! If you don’t have an SPF in your moisturiser then maybe have it in your primer!

Night-time Skin care routine

  • Cleanse- same as day time routine
  • Cleanse again
  • Toner- Restores your skins ph balance! Also known to prevent ingrown hairs.
  • Serum- Same as day time routine.
  • Face oil- A personal favourite of mine. Apart from loving the feeling of the oil, it really is a magic product! Using facial oil continuously can reverse aging by improving skin elasticity!
  • Eye cream- same as day time routine.

Recommended extra skincare:  Exfoliate and Masks.

Benefits of exfoliating your skin:

  • Cleans and purifies clogged pores
  • Gets rid of dead skin cells
  • Helps skincare penetrate deep into the skin
  • Evens out skin tone
  • Boosts circulation

Benefits of using facial masks:

  • Increase hydration
  • Refines skin pores
  • Helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles
  • Encourages even skin tone
  • Firmer skin.

Exfoliating

There are 2 types of exfoliation used with skincare, mechanical and chemical, both have different ways of working but both end up with the same goal- renew new fresh skin cells beneath the upper surface of the skin!

1)Chemical

There are two major types of chemical exfoliators: alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) and beta hydroxy acids (BHAs). AHAs is ideal for sensitive and mature skin giving extra hydration to the skin while BHAs works great with oily and acne prone skin types.

2)Mechanical

These exfoliating methods are facial scrubs or sometimes rough cloths and brushes. Scrubs are easy use and just as effective as a chemical exfoliator. There are many types of scrubs. Depending on your skin type it is important to choose the scrub for you! Most scrubs have tiny particles in them to remove dead skin cells and some have larger particles and can be harsh to your skin particularly if you have sensitive skin so be careful when choosing yours. A mild exfoliator can be suited to all skin types.

Face Masks

  • Sheet masks- Suitable for all skin types, the most versatile of all the masks.
  • Clay (or mud) masks- Great for oily and acne prone skin, the clay and mud help absorb toxins from your skin.
  • Cream masks- Ideal for dry skin, a real boost of hydration. Suitable for mature skin also.
  • Peel-off masks- Can be aimed for acne/oily skin with large pores. Great for refining pores.
  • Gel masks- Soothing & cooling, great treatment for dehydrated, dry and sensitive skin.
  • Charcoal masks- Work best on oily and acne prone skin types.
  • Sleep masks- If you’re looking for a hydrated boost, this will lift your dry dull skin.

Note: To care for your skin you will need to know your skin type: Oily, Dry, Sensitive, Dehydrated, Combination or Mature etc! Choosing your skincare regime will depend on your skin type!
